Policy Issues

Practitioners need to be able to demonstrate a grasp of housing finance, extending to its funding, local government processes, and the arrangements across the housing sector - together with their implications. Practitioners also require an understanding of housing strategy, with regard to development both locally and in partnership with neighbouring authorities, and an awareness of housing initiatives and the circumstances in which they should be applied. Finally, practitioners need to be able to develop suitable planning and management arrangements for area renewal, including effective consultation processes with residents and other interested parties.
