  • Review your performance and identify areas for development
  • Clarify the objectives and required outcomes
  • Conduct particular tasks while observed by the coach
  • Produce an action plan to address any issues identified
  • Review the learning with your manager

Your coach should:

  • Encourage self-assessment
  • Listen more than speak
  • Give specific, factual feedback rather than opinion
  • Compare your performance against established standards
  • Avoid being judgmental
